A Monterey county judge ruled late Friday that a man accused of murder should stand trial. 36-year-old Gabriel Antonio martinez is facing homicide charges in connection with the fatal drug-overdose of a woman last year. The victim, 30-year-old lisa groveman, was found dead in an apartment on aguajito road. She had taken prescription drugs with martinez, and lost consciousness. Martinez did not call 9-1-1, which judge Julie culver said was one of the reasons he should face 2nd degree murder charges. The judge also noted that martinez took groveman out of a public place, and that he was the supplier of the drugs. Martinez is scheduled to return to court on December 29th.
