Mco school board against methyl iodide 12/15/11 5p.m. TDH

Members of the monterey county board of education urged state lawmakers to reverse course on the implementation of methyl iodide as a preferred soil fumigant.  Board members voted 6 to 1 wednesday in favor of resolution, which urges state officials to re-examine health risks posed by the chemical.    It’s the 3rd central coast school district to speak out against the pesticide, which officials want to replace methyl bromide.
