5-people died in a residential fire in Marina on Saturday night. The fire ignited just before midnight, at a residential care facility for disabled adults. Marina firefighters were able to remove 5-people from the seaside court building, but 4-of them died. after the fire had been put out, A 5th victim was found deceased inside the residence. 3 marina police officers suffered smoke inhalation; they were treated and released. The 5th person that was rescued was taken to a local hospital, as were 2 caregivers. The cause of the deadly blaze is being investigated, with assistance from federal officials.
