Cal-fire fire fighters were able to control flames thursday afternoon, that are burning in the prunedale area. the planned-and permitted-burn on a private, 250-acre property grew out of control yesterday at about noon. firefighters had been monitoring the burn, and intervened when it spread beyond its expected boundaries. the flames were contained within a few hours, with the assistance of air support. rain tonight and friday is expected to extinguish the fire. The burn was being conducted to create a fire break, and to clear land for cattle grazing.
