A 41-year-old man was tazed in Santa Cruz on Sunday, after allegedly assaulting a santa cruz police officer. Cyrus Bench is accused of biting the officer’s arm, as the officer tried to detain Bench on the water street bridge. He is believed to have been under the influence of drugs at the time, and was taken to Dominican Hospital. Once there, Bench allegedly fought with a nurse, and was combative. He is facing potential charges of battery on a police officer, battery on emergency personnel, and other charges.
