Cal-fire crews and state parks officials are continuing to monitor the scene of a controlled burn at big basin state park, that was carried out last Monday. The burn was conducted in northern santa cruz county and southern san mateo county, and involved torching vegetation between johansen road/gazos creek road and middle ridge road. Crews and engines are still patrolling the area, to ensure the fire is completely out. Smoke could be seen in the area, for the next couple of days.
