Despite suggestions that the organization should disband, the association of monterey bay area governments will remain intact.  Members of the association, known by its acronym “ambag,” voted unanimously to remain in the coalition.  The body oversees several programs, from low-income housing, to energy programs. Salinas, the association’s largest member, can automatically vote to disband the group if it chooses.
