A Salinas man serving in the U.S. Army was killed in Afghanistan on Saturday. 24-year-old Specialist Ricardo Cerros Junior, was killed when insurgents attacked his unit, using small arms. the attack occurred in Logar province, (which is southeast of the capital, Kabul). The announcement was made Sunday, by the Pentagon. Specialist Ricardo Cerros Junior served as a rifleman, with the 2nd battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Cerros enlisted in July of last year.
