governor jerry brown is considering two bills that would allow local governments and nonprofits to assist the 70 state parks that are facing closure. the closures are part of a plan to shore up a 26-billion dollar deficit after lawmakers cut 33 million dollars from the state parks budget.
among the parks that were announced to close locally were castle rock state park, twin lakes state beach, seabright state beach, schwan lagoon and moss landing state beach.
