Santa cruz city councilwoman lynn robinson announced on Wednesday, that she will not run for state assembly. Robinson had previously announced her intention to run for the 27th assembly-district seat, (which is currently held by bill monning). Monning has announced plans not to run again for the seat, in order to pursue a seat in the state senate. Santa cruz county supervisor mark stone is running for the seat. Both stone and robinson are democrats, however robinson said she was abandoning her bid, after realizing that she could not fulfill her current duties, run her business, and run for assembly at the same time. (She also serves on several local bodies, including the regional transportation commission).
