law enforcement officials in santa cruz county have announced the formation of a new, countywide gang task force. the task force incorporates 10 law enforcement agencies in the county to track gang members, and coordinate efforts to avoid redundancies. initially, the task force will focus its efforts on south county, where gang violence has been more frequent and more violent in recent years.
the gang task force includes the california highway patrol, state parks, capitola police, santa cruz police, the district attorney’s office, county probation, the sheriff’s office, watsonville police, scotts valley police, and state parole.
