u.c. santa cruz chancellor george blumenthal is recovering after undergoing a brain surgery procedure on tuesday. blumenthal underwent the surgery to remove a small abnormal artery in the brain. doctors expect it will take about 3 weeks for blumenthal to recover and to resume his duties.
