ALTHOUGH CAPITOLA CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS VOTED 3-1 YESTERDAY TO REPEAL THE CITY’S RENT CONTROL ORDINANCE IN ITS ENTIRETY, THAT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S A DONE DEAL. THEY MUST STILL GO THROUGH A 2ND READING AND VOTE, BEFORE ANYTHING IS DECIDED FOR SURE. THE CITY OF CAPITOLA HAS SPENT NEARLY 1-AND-A-HALF MILLION DOLLARS (OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS) DEFENDING ITS RENT CONTROL ORDINANCE FROM LEGAL CHALLENGES.
