Swim advisories 08/10/11 8:45p.m. TDH

Santa cruz county health authorities have removed advisory signs at rio del mar beach.   the aptos beach had been under a swimming advisory, because high levels of bacteria were detected.   Recent tests show that the water is now safe for human contact.   Other beaches in the county are still under advisory because of high bacteria levels.  In santa cruz, cowell beach (west of the wharf) has a posted swim-advisory, as does main beach (east of the wharf).   Also under advisory are: the san Lorenzo river mouth, soquel creek (in capitola), moore creek at natural bridges, schwan lake, aptos creek, and porter gulch.
