a local artists has re-created a 500 year-old painting in chalk on the floor of the santa cruz museum of art and history. shirley lehner-rhoades spent 6 hours on the floor of the front street museum, producing a chalk re-creation of a madonna image originally painted 500 years ago by raphael sanzio. lehner-rhoades is the owner of the scotts valley art center, with over 15 years of chalk experience. the chalk art will be featured at the museum until friday.
