a gang sweep in south monterey county last night resulted in 8 arrests. the sweep used funding from the california gang reduction and prevention INITIATIVE and included 41 officers from various agencies. thursday night’s gang sweep is the 17th in a number of efforts to address gang and youth violence in monterey county .
