A contra costa teenager who was buried in sand last month at a Watsonville-area beach, is not expected to fully recover. The family of 17-year-old ryan Buchanan reported that, although he has shown some signs of improvement, (such as opening his eyes), doctors do not expect buchanan to regain voluntary motion. He was buried in sand for about 10-minutes, when a tunnel he was digging at sunset state beach collapsed on him, on june 25th.
