A salinas branch of the employment development department will not be moving after all. The department had planned to close the location on la guardia street, because the building was not in compliance with the Americans with disabilities act. After staff announced that there were no plans to keep the salinas office running, several state lawmakers urged them to reconsider. The employment development department now plans to remain at the location, and work with the property owner to bring it up to code.
