a contract has been approved in salinas that will make it easier for residents to recycle organic materials. a new contract between salinas valley solid waste authority and fremont-based vision recycling will allow for residents to drop off green waste, wood debris and food scraps at the transfer station in salinas, and at the johnson canyon landfill in gonzales. compost, wood chips, and other soil amenities will be offered for sale at the sites. the program is expected to process about 26-thousand tons of ORGANICS yearly.
