JONES RETIRES FROM TEACHING – 07/03/11 22:41 S.S.

AFTER 37 YEARS OF TEACHING 2ND AND 3RD GRADERS, 62 YEAR-OLD SOQUEL UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER MIKE JONES IS RETIRING FROM TEACHING, BUT SAYS THAT DOESN’T MEAN HE’S RETIRING FROM LIFE. HE PLANS TO CONTINUE TO PLAY SING AND PLAYS GUITAR AND BANJO WITH THE FARMER’S MARKET BAND (THAT CAN BE HEARD SATURDAYS AT THE FARMER’S MARKET AT CABRILLO COLLEGE). JONES SAYS HE PLANS TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HIS GRANDCHILDREN, AND TAKE UP THE MANDOLIN.

JONES 

SAID HE ESPECIALLY WANTED TO THANK HIS SPECIALIZED “BLIND TEACHER ASSISTANTS”, AS WELL AS OTHERS WHO HELPED HIM OUT ALONG THE WAY.
