A SKATEBOARD BUSINESS ICON DIED IN SAN FRANSCICO THIS WEEK. 64 YEAR-OLD ERIC SWENSON, WHO RE-INVIGORATED SKATEBOARDING IN THE LATE 1970’S WITH HIS INDEPENDENT TRUCKS EQUIPMENT FIRM, AND WAS THE CO-FOUNDER OF THE MAGAZINE THRASHER, IS BELIEVED TO HAVE KILLED HIMSELF IN FRONT OF THE MISSION POLICE STATION. SWENSON IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, AND 2 SISTERS.
