Firefighters were able to fully contain the metz fire on Saturday morning, after flames charred 832-acres east of soledad. Over 120 firefighters fought the blaze, which broke out at 6:18p.m. Thursday, when power-lines touched each other during high-winds. The fire off of highway-146, near metz road, was contained by 8 a.m. Saturday, but cal-fire crews remained on the scene over the weekend to monitor hot-spots. 1-outbuilding was destroyed, however no injuries were reported in the grass fire.
