The Coastal Commission approved plans today to build a school in Capitola serving kids from preschool to 1st grade. The new Jade Street Park facility is expected to serve 80 students. Construction for the project is expected to break ground this summer, and plans also include 2 portable buildings, play areas and expanded parking from 26 spaces to 46. $1.75 million dollars has been earmarked for the project.
