A missing 41-year old Monterey County woman was found dead this morning in the mountains, South of Carmel Valley. The body of Prunedale resident, Tawni Neikirk was found by hikers on a private road near Chews Ridge in the Los Padres National Forest. Neikirk had been reported missing since April 1st. An autopsy is slated for tomorrow to confirm the cause of death. Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies, however, say they are investigating the incident as a possible suicide.Neikirk is the daughter of famous local chef, John Pisto.
