A father, mother, and 2 young children were able to safely escape from their Santa Cruz home, after a fire alarm awakened them around 5 a.m. this morning. The blaze began in an air purifier that was near a wall of the Marnell Avenue home. The initial damage was estimated at 20 thousand dollars.
