A locally owned natural foods store will be expanding to Silcon Valley soon. New Leaf Community Markets has signed a 15-year lease to open a 25,000 square-foot market this fall in San Jose at Canyon Creek Plaza. The new store, expected to open this fall, will be staffed by 75 to 100 employees, and a remodel is planned to offer a fresh salad bar, a hot food bar and a juice bar. The market, which is recognized for supporting local farmers and non profits, has grown to 5 stores in Santa Cruz County and one in Half Moon Bay in San Mateo County.
