SOME INVESTORS ARE HOPING TO BUILD A 111-ROOM HOTEL ON A SITE WHERE A CHURCH NOW STANDS IN SANTA CRUZ. THEY WANT TO CONSTRUCT THE HYATT PLACE HOTEL ON THE 400 BLOCK OF BROADWAY, NEAR OCEAN STREET. AS PROPOSED, THE 4-STORY STRUCTURE (WHICH WOULD BE 42 FEET TALL) WOULD SIT BETWEEN A VICTORIAN-STYLE HOME….AND THE 3-STORY PACIFIC TERRACE CONDOS (THAT WERE BUILT BACK IN 1982).
THE TENTATIVE PUBLIC HEARING DATES FOR THIS PROJECT ARE APRIL 7TH (WITH THE SANTA CRUZ PLANNING COMMISSION), AND MAY 10TH WITH THE (SANTA CRUZ CITY COUNCIL).
