Police are investigating a possible homicide after finding the body of a woman last night in South Salinas. Police responded to a report of a car-fire in an industrial part of the city, at the intersection of Sanborn Place and Industrial Street just before 10:30 p.m., to find a smoldering vehicle and a woman’s body, who has been identified as 25-year old Yesenia Chaidez, lying nearby. Police are investigating the incident as a “crime scene”, and say the body was found with signs for blunt force trauma.The cause of death is pending results of an autopsy.
