Salinas police arrested a wanted gang member this morning after he was stopped while driving a stolen vehicle. Police say the driver of the vehicle, 20-year old Bernardo Gomez along with 19-year old Leonardo Torres were traveling on the 1200 block of De La Torre Street just before 1 a.m., when they were pulled over. Gomez, who had a felony warrant for his arrest, was arrested without incident, while Torres ran. Officers located Torres in a nearby parking lot of a Motel, where the 2 were staying, and seized a 9-m.m. handgun, ammunition, and packaged drugs for sales from their motel room.
