Officials at PG&E remind customers to protect themselves of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning during the winter season. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, tasteless and odorless gas that is created by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels and wood. Officials say tragic cases of carbon monoxide poisoning can be avoided each year during the winter months as people try to stay warm by not using generators, charcoal or barbeque grills inside the home. P-G-and-E also reminds you that if using the fireplace to stay warm, make sure the flue is open, so byproducts of combustion can vent safely through the chimney.
