CITY LEADERS IN SEASIDE MAY PASS A LAW TO PREVENT FORECLOSED HOMES FROM FALLING INTO DISREPAIR. THE PROPOSAL IS TITLED “THE ABANDONED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY REGISTRATION ORDINANCE”, AND REQUIRES OWNERS OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES TO NOTIFY THE CITY WHEN A DEFAULT NOTICE IS RECORDED AND TO KEEP THE HOME AT NEIGHBORHOOD MAINTENANCE STANDARDS. THE PROPOSAL IS DRAFTED AFTER A SIMILAR ORDINANCE IN CHULA VISTA. THE CITIES OF GREENFIELD AND SOLEDAD HAVE BOTH ADOPTED THE LAW.
