A Santa Cruz man is going to Hollywood for a chance to compete on American Idol. 21-year old James Durbin closed the final audition episode on American idol last night. After Durbin performed 2 songs in front of the Idol judges he was given the golden ticket to move forward to the next round. Durbin, who began performing in grade school in several productions of the Santa Cruz theater organization of Kids on Broadway, also sang at the Santa Cruz music school and on stage with the White Album Ensemble. Durbin will be one of 40-contestants to compete for the show’s top prize.
American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on the Fox network.
