A Salinas man faces 25-years to life in prison after a man was found drowned and beaten a year-and-a-half-ago in South Monterey County. Enedino Gonzalez Perea pleaded no contest today to 1st degree murder after he and his then-17-year old nephew, Alvaro Gonzales, who faces adult charges, were arrested 10 days after Crescencio Texco Garcia’s body was found on August 2nd of 2009 under the Arroyo Seco River Bridge near Elm Avenue. Gonzalez is slated to appear back in court next month.
