The number of bicycle riders in Santa Cruz County has increased more than 25-percent, over the past 7-years. That’s according to a recently-conducted Observation Survey performed by the county’s Health Services Agency. Staff members with the Community Traffic Safety Coalition, along with volunteers, spent 75-hours observing 41-sights throughout the county, and recognized the increase by focusing on high-traffic areas. This year’s survey is not expected to be conducted due to budget cuts.
