Opening statements are expected to be heard Monday morning for a Monterey woman accused of murder and vehicular manslaughter. Deborah King is accused of being impaired by prescription drugs when she struck and killed a father of two, Joel Woods outside a Pacific Grove Middle School in 2008. After 3-days of selection, the jury was seated yesterday. King is being sued by Woods widow and 2 sons as well as the city and school district, alleging insufficient traffic controls at the pick-up and drop-off area at the school.
