The California Franchise Tax Board is reminding some Central Coast residents not to forget to file their taxes…again. Nearly 5-thousand Santa Cruz County residents, and about 8-thousand Monterey County residents are expected to receive letters from the Board, notifying them that they didn’t file a tax return with California last year. The overdue-reminders increased in Santa Cruz County by 220 this year. In all, the Franchise Tax Board sent out about 9-hundred-thousand reminder letters for overdue tax returns. About 40-percent of residents who received the letters last year filed their overdue taxes.
