About 5 ounces of methamphetamine, worth a street value of $12,000, was discovered over the weekend in Watsonville. A Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered the drugs during a traffic stop Friday at 3 p.m. on the 2700 block of Freedom Boulevard when the driver Jaime Lopez was pulled over for tail-gating and driving erratically. Lopez was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of possession for sale and transportation of a controlled substance along with driving without a license.
