VOLUNTEERS OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THE EFFORTS OF 2 LOCAL NON-PROFITS, IN TRYING TO HELP RESTORE HABITAT FOR THE CALIFORNIA RED-LEGGED FROG AT ANTONELLI POND TOMORROW (MONDAY). MEMBERS OF SAVE THE FROGS, AND THE LAND TRUST OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY PLAN TO KICK OFF THEIR RESTORAL CAMPAIGN BY REMOVING INVASIVE WEEDS, AND NON-NATIVE AMERICAN BULLFROGS (WHICH PREY ON THE NATIVE RED-LEGGED FROGS), AND PLANTING NATIVE VEGETATION AT THE POND. TOMORROW’S EVENT IS SLATED TO TAKE PLACE FROM 9 A.M. UNTIL NOON.
ANTONELLI POND IS LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF SANTA CRUZ, ACROSS DELAWARE AVENUE FROM NATURAL BRIDGES STATE BEACH.
