A 26-year old man, who was killed during a drive-by shooting in Salinas yesterday, has been identified. Authorities say Uriel Padilla Gonzales suffered fatal injuries while he was sitting inside of a red Chevrolet pick-up truck in the 11-hundred block of Parkside Street when a Mazda pulled up alongside of the truck at around 10:50 a.m. and began to fire multiple shots inside the truck. Gonzales was taken to an area hospital before being air-lifted to an out of county trauma center where he was pronounced dead. The shooting, which is being investigated as gang-related, is the city’s 1st homicide to take place this year.
