Rescue crews responded to a report of a man who fell off a cliff from a home near the Palo Colorado area in Monterey County yesterday. Fire crews were sent to the home near Highway-1 just south of Garrapata Creek at about 10:15 p.m. to rescue the man, who struck his head after falling 15-to-20-feet onto a small beach. 2 people at the home during the time of the incident tried to rescue the man but also became trapped below the cliff. Fire crews rescued the man, who was air-lifted to a San Jose trauma center, meanwhile the 2 people who attempted to rescue the man, were hospitalized for cuts, bruises and hypothermia.
