An electrical malfunction forced the Macy’s in Monterey’s Del Monte Shopping Center to be evacuated on Sunday. Fire crews responded to a report of an electrical fire at the store, at about 3:30 p.m. Although no flames were found, smoke was billowing out of an electrical box. About 1-hundred-50 people were evacuated, and power to the box was turned off. The store re-opened at 4:45, there were no injuries in the incident.
