Hospital officials at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System plan on reducing it’s work force in an effort to cut costs this year. The cost-cutting move, which was announced today, is expected to affect a “workforce reduction” of 5 to 6 percent of the hospital’s staff by the end of this year. The move comes as the hospital is undergoing an organization redesign, buyouts were offered to 135 hospital employees back in June.
