Valley Churches United Missions in Ben Lomond is requesting the community’s help and support this holiday season. Since requests from needy families are exceeding donations, which are currently down nearly $6,000 this year, 3 holiday events are planned this weekend to benefit The Christmas Project. Volunteers will be accepting donations of food certificates, cash and checks at 2 food drives, 1 planned for the Felton Safeway on 6255 Graham Hill Road and another at the Safeway in Scotts Valley on 253 Mount Hermon Drive, both events will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The 3rd event, The San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce “Light up the Valley” house decorating contest, will hold a potluck dinner that will be held at Felton Community Hall on Sunday December 12th from 5 to 7 p.m. to announce the winners. Bring a dish to share and check out great raffle prizes.
