2 new police officers and a community services officer were officially sworn into the Santa Cruz police force during a formal ceremony today. The new recruits include officers 27-year old David Cutler, who was a corporate in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 3 tours of duty in Iraq, 23-year old Ryan Kiar who graduated from Redwood Christian High School in Castro Valley and U.C. Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in classical civilization, and community services officer Toni Sandoval, a graduate of South Lake Tahoe High School who has served in the U.S. Army and in the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
