A judge gave his final approval today on an application to extend city water service for housing construction on the north end campus of U.C. Santa Cruz. Opponents of university growth plan on appealing the matter to the 6th District Court of Appeals in San Jose. The judge announced today that he had been un-swayed by further arguments he allowed the community water coalition to make since the parties met in court last month. The coalition filed a lawsuit 7 months ago arguing the university should not be the sole applicant for extra-territorial water service.
