A Salinas police officer used the Heimlich-maneuver to help save a choking victim on Saturday. The officer, Jeff Munoz, was patrolling the Kiddie-Capers parade, in Salinas, at 6:20 p.m., when he noticed the woman choking. Munoz used the Heimlich, and the victim began breathing normally again. She was later treated at the scene by medical personnel, and released. Officer Munoz’s heroics were met with applause by the parade-watchers who witnessed the rescue.
