MEHSERLE CASE POSTPONED 07-06-10 16:00 a.v.

A Los Angeles jury is expected to reconvene in court tomorrow after deliberations in the trial of a former San Francisco bay area transit officer, accused of fatally shooting an unarmed man on an Oakland train platform last year, were postponed today. A juror illness postponed deliberations of former BART transit officer, Johannes Mehserle, who pleaded not guilty in the shooting death of 22-year old Oscar Grant after a fight drew officers to a train station on new year’s day of 2009. The case was moved to a Los Angeles courtroom due to racial tension and extensive media coverage in Alameda County.
