MONTEREY DESAL PROJECT PUBLIC FORUMS 06-25-10 15:15 a.v.

Several public hearings are slated to take place next week to encourage public feedback regarding the Monterey Bay Regional Water Desalination Project.  The project is designed to replace the majority of California American Water’s current diversions from the Carmel River.  The project consists of a 10-million-gallon-per-day desalination facility located in North Marina that would be owned by Marina Coast Water District.  Everyone is encouraged to attend 1 of the 3 public forums, since this will be the last time the public will be able to voice their opinions before city officials make their final decisions.  the first of 3 meetings take place Monday june 28th at 7 p.m. at the Monterey City Hall Council Chambers in Monterey located at 580 Pacific Street.
