A 79 YEAR OLD MAN WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE WHEN HE WAS CROSSING THE STREET AT LIGHTHOUSE AVENUE AND IRVING STREET YESTERDAY (MONDAY). ACCORDING TO MONTEREY COUNTY SEARGENT MICKEY ROOBASH, THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO COMMUNITY HOSPITAL OF THE MONTEREY PENINSULA (CHOMP) AND WAS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH OFFICERS AT THE HOSPITAL. THE INCIDENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION
