Agriculture groups will distribute 750,000 procedure masks in Monterey County thanks to a gift from the state. 25,000 workers will receive one makes each day for 30 days under the program. Because the masks are from the state PPE stockpile, there is no cost to the county of the workers.
The county said the masks are hoped to keep essential agricultural workers safe because they often work closely together.
The Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association, Farm Bureau, Grower-Shipper Association of Central California and the California Strawberry Commission will distribute the masks.
